New storyboard- Narrative

Due to the changes to our videos structure we have had to re-shoot various scenes, meaning that we needed new storyboards. Here is the storyboard for the narrative based scenes.

The first two shots used are a mid shot and an over the shoulder shot. In regards to the camera's movement the mid shot is still and the over the shoulder starts off still but then begins to pan. The mid shot shows the narrative protagonist (Henry) looking through a photo album, whereas the over the shoulder shot allows the audience a better look at the stills within the photo album.

Shots three and four are an extreme close up and a mid shot, both shots are still. The extreme close up shows one particular still in the photo album of Henry and the love interest (Hollie). This then transitions into the live action mid shot.

Here is the sketch of the transition from still photos to live action. A close up of the protagonist turning the page of the photo album.

Shot five is a still close up of the couple holding hands to link with the lyric "Oh the way you held my hand". Shot six is another still mid shot, this time of the couple stood on top of a hill.

Although the storyboard shows shot seven as a close up of Hollie's face, however when we filmed it didn't look right or provide the desired effect so it was scrapped. The new shot seven is the same as shot eight in the storyboard, which is a still mid shot of the couple breaking up on the hill. However what is key about this shot is that we edited in an overlaying fade to symbolise how the couple grew apart and eventually faded out of each others lives.

Here is a still image of the first page of the storyboard in full.

The shots on the second page of the storyboard are a shot of the narrative protagonist sitting on the hill where his relationship ended. However this was another shot that was scrapped and after changing the order of the shots, was replaced by a pair of tracking shots of the narrative protagonist, one of the protagonist walking towards the camera and one of him walking away from it. These tracking shots are still and follow on from the second shot you see on the story board which is a long shot of the love interest's house.
